Derald Blackmore
Derald is a retired educator who was a teacher and principal in the Redwood City School District for 37 years. He has been affiliated with the Redwood City Pride and Beautification organization, Redwood City Kiwanis and the Redwood City Education Foundation. As an educator, he is interested in organizations that support student learning and achievement.
Russell Brunson
Russell Brunson is a manager at a non-profit that provides dispute resolution services to communities throughout San Mateo County. He received his B.A. from Columbia University and his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a focus on alternative dispute resolution and family law. Russell has implemented conflict resolution programs in organizations throughout the United States, but has been particularly interested in implementing programs in K-16 schools and youth-serving organizations using both traditional training-based and nontraditional distance learning and arts-based techniques. Jane Bryan-Jones
Jane is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and her MA from Santa Clara University. Her first career was as a high school English and Theater Arts teacher in Newton Massachusetts. She worked at the Children’s Health Council in Palo Alto for several years before going into private practice. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
As a former teacher she recognizes the powerful potential teachers have to influence their students. CEC’s mission to offer support to teachers, giving them the tools and strategies to connect with at risk students, thus promoting their resiliency to “bounce back from adversity,” is in alignment with her belief about what students need to succeed. She is both excited and proud to be a board member of an organization that is so passionate about its mission and doing such excellent work.
Cindy Davison
Cindy was involved in European medieval languages and literature in the roles of teaching and research. She was on the PTA Executive Board of the Portola Valley School District and the Parents’ Association Executive Board of the Woodside Priory School. She was the Woodside Priory Auction Chair for 5 years and volunteered at the school for 13 years. She enjoys doing events, particularly ones that benefit education and children. She is impressed by the Cleo Eulau Center’s approach of working through teachers.
Carlos Estrada
Carlos is a marketing director in the medical device industry. He earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University and his M.B.A. from Santa Clara University with concentrations in marketing and international business. During the past 18 years, he has worked in a variety of marketing roles for companies including Guidant Corporation and Johnson & Johnson. Having grown up in Mexico and moved to the U.S. at the age of seventeen, he understands the challenges of bi-cultural environments. His marriage to an elementary educator also provides great insight into the challenges of public education in California. Both of these facts fuel a passion about the work of the CEC.
Penny Goldcamp
Penny is an architect and a real estate agent. She has Bachelor of Architecture degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio and has her California Real Estate license. She has worked with the Ecumenical Hunger Council, with Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, Hidden Villa and the National Charity League. She volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and One Warm Coat. Penny says that the CEC emphasis on teacher support really strikes a chord with her. She feels that a teacher’s job is one of the hardest and one of the most important for our society. She believes that CEC’s mission of empowering classroom teachers is vital to building strong-thinking future citizens. She is convinced that education teaches tolerance and that tolerance is the key to a peaceful world.
Kate Gormley
Kate has more than 25 years experience in every aspect of human resource management. Her work has a particular focus on start-up companies. Kate holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCSD. She is a member and speaker for several human resource societies as well as a member of the CEC Board of Directors.
Susan Levenberg
Susan is an attorney for Santa Clara County first 5. She earned a B.A. at the State University of New York at Albany and a J.D. at the State University of New York, Buffalo School of Law. She is affiliated with the New York State Bar and the Appeals Bureau of the New York City Legal Aid Society. She is a member of the California State Bar and Santa Clara County Counsel. She is also a VISTA attorney for San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance. She has been impressed with the two programs the Cleo Eulau Center has. She feels that providing support to teachers and school administrators is a wonderful approach.
Jennifer Lezin
Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received a B.A. from the University of California and an M.A. from Smith College, School for Social Work. She is affiliated with the Society for Clinical Social Work. She has volunteered for the Obama Presidential Campaign. Since the start of her career, she had a close association with Cleo Eulau. She feels a strong commitment to children at risk and has a desire for a connection with people who share a similar sense of commitment.
MJ Myatt
MJ is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned BA degrees in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Iowa. She received a Masters of Social Work degree from San Jose State. She is also certified in Divorce Mediation. She serves on the board of Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology and is the chair of the Peninsula/South Bay Education Committee. With CEC, she works on Fund Development. She is interested in the mission of CEC: to help high risk adolescents via teachers equipped with better mental health skills.

Paul Resnick
Paul Resnick is partner in a Palo Alto investment counseling firm. He’s a graduate of Claremont McKenna College (BA) and UCLA Graduate School of Management(MBA). A bay area native, he has served as treasurer, finance committee chair and board chair of several nonprofit organizations over the past 35 years. He lives in Mountain View with his wife. They have 2 adult children and one grandchild.
Myrna Klee Robinson
Myrna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Divorce Mediator. She received a B.A. degree from Vassar College in 1969 and an M.S.W. at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1974. Myrna is a past board member of the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation. She is a member of the California Society for Clinical Social Work. She was a volunteer board member of the Sanville Institute for 10 years. Cleo was one of her first mentors. Throughout Cleo’s life, Myrna valued her wise insights, her deep commitment to their profession and its values, as well as her wonderfully dry sense of humor. It is a great honor to Myrna to carry on Cleo’s legacy through her work on the Board of Trustees.
Raphael Tam
Raphael is a Business Development Executive at Cisco Systems. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago and an MS from Northwestern University. He served on several committees of the California Democratic Party. Raphael is interested in contributing his expertise in strategic planning, partnering and organization development to CEC. He is impressed by CEC’s track record in helping children recover from adversity, as well as its aspiration to improve the quality of education on a national scale.
